A Catholic men's group that actually meets. First Monday, every month.
Two years of first Mondays and counting. Come sit in as a guest. No signup, no speech, no pressure.
You weren't meant to carry it alone.
You go to Mass. You shake a hand or two at the sign of peace. Then you drive home and carry the week by yourself: the job, the family, the faith you're trying to live without anyone to talk to about it.
Most men in the pews are doing the same thing. Nobody planned it that way. It's just what happens when there's no obvious place to show up.
One evening a month. Here's exactly what happens.
No ceremony to learn, nothing to buy, nothing to prepare. Just this:
- 6:00Mass. We start where it matters. Thirty minutes, men of the group serving, lectoring, and singing the chants.
- 6:30The meeting. Handshakes and coffee, then a topic worth talking about: Scripture, a virtue, a real question men actually face. Speak up or just listen, both are fine.
- 7:45Prayer intentions. You say as much or as little as you want. The group prays for it either way.
- 8:00Food. Cooked by our own guys. Stay for a plate and a conversation, or head home. No one keeps track.
That's the whole thing. It works because it keeps happening.
Two years of first Mondays. We haven't missed one.

Coming for the first time
- Drop your email below. We'll send you the next meeting date and the topic. That's all we send.
- Show up on the first Monday. Come for Mass at 6:00 if you can, or walk in at 6:30 for the meeting. Tell us it's your first time and someone will sit with you.
- Come back if it was worth it. No follow-up calls, no guilt. The door's open the next first Monday either way.
Fair questions
- Do I have to be a St Joan of Arc parishioner?
- No. Most of us are, but men from parishes all over the valley come. You just have to be able to get here on a first Monday.
- I won't know anyone.
- Every man in the room walked in once not knowing anyone. Tell us it's your first time and you won't stand alone at the coffee pot.
- Is this a Bible study?
- Partly, some months. It's a men's group: Scripture, honest conversation, prayer, and brotherhood. You don't need to bring anything or prepare anything.
- How much does it cost?
- Showing up costs nothing, ever. Membership is pay what you can, starting at zero dollars: you choose the amount, and no one but you knows what it is. Dues cover coffee, materials, and speakers.
- What if I miss a month?
- Then we'll see you the month after. Life happens. The group doesn't keep score.
When a Monday a month isn't enough anymore.
The monthly meeting is the front door. A few times a year we also run an optional 90-day challenge in the spirit of Exodus 90: daily prayer, real disciplines, and a small band of brothers checking in on each other. It's hard on purpose, and nobody does it alone.
No pressure and no prerequisite. Ask about the next one at a meeting, or mention it when you leave your email.
If it becomes your group, help carry it.
Membership is pay what you can, starting at zero. You pick the amount: some men give nothing, some give enough to cover the man next to them, and nobody checks. Dues fund the coffee, the materials, and the occasional speaker. Guests are always free.
Become a member: pay what you canThe evening runs because men run it.
Nothing about a first Monday happens by itself. If you've been coming a while and want a job, we have four:
- AltarServe at the altar during the 6:00 Mass
- LectorProclaim the readings
- ChantSing the chants. No audition, just show up to practice
- CookFeed the room after the meeting
The next first Monday is coming.
Two years from now you could still be doing Mass-and-home. Or you could know twenty men who pray for you by name. It starts with one email and one Monday.
